Indoor Market & Affiliates

Our indoor market is housed in our very own Market House which was built in 1843 and offers a covered area in which to browse the goods our stall holders have on offer ranging from fresh meat and cheese to cakes and confectionary.

The town trust is legally responsible for the market in accordance with the rights and privileges granted by Royal Charter of 1680. The aim of the trust is to manage and regulate the market in a responsible way, which seeks to keep in balance all the various interests involved.

The market contributes greatly to the success of the town and enriches its social, cultural and economic life. Whether it be our indoor market or Thursday street market, stall holders offer something for everyone with good quality offers and a friendly smile, why not pay us a visit?
